Can you fix a bad 808 or muddy bass in mastering?

Mastering can address a lot, but it cannot fully fix a mix-level problem. If your 808 is clashing with the kick or the bass is genuinely muddy in the mix, we'll flag it when we receive your files and recommend adjustments before we start. A quick mix revision is always better than masking the problem.

What LUFS target do you use for hip-hop on Spotify?

We target -14 LUFS integrated for Spotify, -16 LUFS for Apple Music. However for hip-hop we approach this on a track-by-track basis — a high-energy trap banger and a lo-fi chill track need different dynamics treatment even at the same loudness target.

Do you do stem mastering for hip-hop?

Yes — stem mastering is especially powerful for hip-hop. Sending separate stems (drums, bass/808, vocals, synths/samples) gives us surgical control to bring up the snare snap, tighten the sub, and clear space for the vocal without affecting the rest. It's $100/song + $10 per stem group.
